BUST Through Your Fears

Unfortunately, so many people are living unhappily in their day to day lives, just going through the motions, settling for good instead of great, and playing it “safe” because they’re worried of the failure that might come along with trying.

You see when it comes to big dreams, we’ll say we’re going to change, we’ll say we’re going to work at it

“Tomorrow is the day!”
“Monday is a fresh start!”

But for some reason self doubt jumps in and prevents Continue reading

Comparing Ourselves to Others

In a time when social media is at it’s peak, our views into people’s “lives” has become easier than ever to see. The problem with this though, is that we are only ever really seeing the glamorous side to their lives.

I’ve been guilty of this my entire life. From from my richer, skinnier, prettier friends growing up, to my family constantly comparing me to other people, to the fact that I was just…. different. As much as I’d love to blame my self consciousness on all these factors, I know well enough now to see that it’s just a character flaw no less than Continue reading

Recipe: Rice Cooker Spanish Style Quinoa

I’m not sure why I’m just now creating this recipe ~ as Spanish style rice is my weakness. But I almost never have it because most recipes have chicken stock or loads of sodium. And with living in the van, it’s always been difficult to make rice as it uses a TON of propane which can be expensive. But recently my mother in law gifted us with a rice cooker! MY SAVIOR! NEW Recipe: ABC Oats

When my husband and I first began our weight loss journey, we knew we needed to make big changes in the way that we ate. For the both of us, and most Americans, the go-to’s were waffles, cereal, bacon, pancakes, pastries, bagels, or yogurt. All of which are okay in moderation, but for us ~ moderation wasn’t in our dictionary.

Breakfast should be energizing. It’s the meal that’s going to get us through the start of our day. Filled with fiber, healthy fats, protein, Continue reading

NEW Blog: How to Live Your Best Life

“I’m living my best life”

If you’ve yet to hear this quote, I’m not sure where you’ve been. But it was recently populized by the Cardi B and Chance the Rapper song “Best Life”.

Everywhere I’ve looked lately, I see this quote. On captions of pictures, statuses on Facebook, texts from friends, and I hear it at least 20 times a day. Normally, a quote like this would eventually start to feel old and annoying. In the same realm as “yolo”, “started from the bottom now we here”, or “no new friends” (I guess you could say Drake has really made an impact on our lives!). But this quote in particular ~ I’m fully on board for, no matter how many times I hear it. Continue reading

NEW Blog: Five Tips to Snack Healthy on the Road

We’ve all been there ~ tired from traveling, just trying to find a way to get energized, snack fast, and – let’s face it – conquer our boredom. We go in with full intentions of finding something healthy to snack on… But then our only options end up being candy, a bag of chips, and some sort of sugar filled drink. We end up caving because it’s what’s there ~ only to feel terrible by the end of the trip because our energy is crashing like waves on the sand.

Sound familiar? Yeah… Me too.

Well, luckily for all of us ~ Continue reading
